Icon Library Redesign

The Wisconsin School of Business needed an updated icon library with a cohesive and versatile look that could be applied to the many audiences of the School: undergrad, graduate, doctorate, and alumni.

I led the redesign project with two other designers, Shaysa Sidebottom and Elizabeth Richardson. We worked together to research current trends in icon design, conduct a competitor review, and explore several design styles.

The final design style incorporated line icons with rounded edges, line breaks, and pops of color. Each icon is designed within a grid to ensure each icon has consistency. The library now includes 130+ icons. Select icons shown.

A guidelines web page was set up for access by other stakeholders within the School to download and use predetermined color options. Usage guidelines are detailed within the web page to address concerns such as minimum size, buffer space, and appropriate background contrast.
